For a stable connection, avoid connecting devices that exceed a total of 900 mA. Devices are usually rated as follows:

External Hard Drive 900 mA The hub supports a maximum of 2 hard drives, but for best performance, the power demand of connected devices shouldnt exceed the total USB output of 5V 0.9A. Devices with high power demand such as Apple USB SuperDrive shouldnt be connected to the hub. With one Micro port, supports up to 5V/2.4A input power.
